When Paul Goodnight graduated from high school in the mid-1960s, war was raging in Vietnam. Like so many other young men, Goodnight was sent to fight. He arrived in Vietnam in 1967 and spent two harrowing years on his tour of duty. What he saw, heard, and felt traumatized him severely. In 1969 he returned stateside with a stutter and horrible memories. He moved to Boston and soon turned to drugs to deaden his pain. He could have been lost, but instead a horrible incident pushed Goodnight to get clean. He found the body of his close friend--also a drug user--dead. He had hung himself. "When someone that close to you dies," Goodnight told People Weekly, "you have to believe that could have been you. I thought I'd been given a reprieve." He quit drugs and turned to his childhood hobby of art.

Alan & Aaron Hicks:
Alan and Aaron Hicks are identical twin brothers from Chicago, Illinois. Not only do they share the same facial features, but the same unique talent as well.
Since the age of eight, the Allen and Aaron have shared an intense desire to express their creativity through drawing. Over time, what began as a journey of self-expression through art became a bona fide passion to capture "life" with whatever media God placed in their hands. The only question would be, "which hand?" because Alan paints with his left hand, while Aaron paints with his right.
Today, Allen and Aaron Hicks continue to stretch themselves as artists and consistently strive for Godly perfection in their work.

Video of John Holyfield talking about his challenges of being a single father, artist and businessman.
His education included Long Beach City College and California State University. Although he majored in business in college, he always had an affinity for fine art and he also took art classes.
His early artistic influences include Charles White, R.C. Gorman, Frank Howell and John Biggers and the artist’s earliest work were black and white illustrations that reflected a ‘sixties sensibility. The innovative, ever-evolving artist has over the years developed a distinctive style that fuses African, Native American and African American cultural themes and is characterized by a bold cross-hatching technique, which utilizes ink and acrylic. His hallmark is strong, larger-than-life figures, especially women, with exaggerated hands, feet and height. He states his aim: “I want [the viewers] to realize that each piece of art is about them. It’s about the deep inner feelings of one person being pictured in a way that touches you.”

As a majestic African Queen stands on the shores off the coast of Africa, she looks out into the Atlantic Ocean and her eyes behold The Worst Sight ever seen - slave ships approaching Africa.
Tears well up in her eyes and she is overcome by a feeling
of helplessness and rage as she feels evil in the air.
